Purple – Be The Energy You Want To Attract

Carolyn, Walk the Storm

16 February 2018

I feel alive and mysterious in my purple Osregn raincoat.

Purple is Not a Colour, it’s a Way of Life

For me, purple is the ultimate positive and represents good fortune. The colour purple combines the calm stability of blue and the fierce, passionate energy of red. It’s associated with royalty, nobility, luxury power and ambition. Purple also represents wealth, extravagance and creativity. Throughout history, purple robes were worn by royalty – as purple occurs rarely in nature, it was highly valued and was a sign of wealth and power as well as intriguing. The colour purple affects us by uplifting our spirits, calming the mind and nerves, enhancing the sacred feelings of spirituality. Purple is the Crown chakra, which represents openmindedness and purity of thought.

Believe in yourself and you will be unstoppable.

Windsor was adorned in purple at Christmas.

Shine like the whole universe is yours.

My soul is ready to live the life of my dreams

Food to Feed the Soul

Vegetables: Asparagus, beetroot, purple cauliflower, cabbage, kale, kohl rabi potatoes, beans, tomatoes, pak choi, eggplants, carrots, garlic.

Fruits: Grapes, figs, passion fruit, plums, blackberries, blueberries, elderberries, prunes, raisins.

These are the richest natural sources of anthocyanins, they are widely thought to help fight inflammation, improve the body’s ability to absorb calcium and other nutrients, help lower cholesterol, boost the immune system, reduce tumour growth and help limit the activity of cancer cells throughout the body.

A Pinot Noir is a great red wine for anti-cancer, so perhaps pour yourself a glass while you are making yourself these delicious chocolate and beetroot brownies. Beetroot adds a lovely richness, depth of colour and flavour:

Beetroot Chocolate Brownies

  • 125g coconut oil
  • 125g butter
  • 250g best quality dark chocolate (70% Cocoa)
  • 3 free range eggs
  • 100g dark brown or molasses sugar
  • 150g self raising flour
  • 250g beetroot – cooked, peeled and cooled
  • Handful of nuts and dried fruits to taste

Melt the butter, coconut oil and chocolate in a bowl, above a saucepan of simmering hot water. Whisk the eggs and sugar together until the sugar has dissolved. Stir in the chocolate mixture. Finely chop or blend the beetroot and add to the mixture. Add nuts and dried fruit to taste. For me, I like lots of chopped Brazil nuts, chopped prunes and dried cranberries.  Pour this mixture into a lined tin, 8 inches square or similar, and bake at 180 C / 360 F / Gas Mark 4 for 25 – 30 minutes – until only a little bit of gooey-ness remains on the skewer.

Nothing gets between me and my purple

Unfortunately for Bentley he won’t be sampling the Brownies – he’s on a raw meat diet – that’s for another blog!
