Nordic Weather is a new brand to the UK, they build their competence by encountering the elements – very much in keeping with Walk the Storm! We are very impressed with the design and quality of the raincoats – we have selected four from the range which we feel match our ethos of bringing colour and vitality to the rain!
Style 111 is medium in weight, with Nordic Weather’s Poly/PVC fabric combined with a 60gr warm padding inside, giving great protection from cold wind and rain. The fabric is not breathable, so would be less suitable for perspiration-generating activities over a long period of time. The coat also features a fixed hood that can be adjusted for a snug fit, wind cuffs, vertical zip pockets with a fleece lining, an inner zip pocket and reflective details for safety at night. All seams are tape-sealed.
This style is similar to the 112, but with square-cut shoulders and a black lining.
Nordic Weather’s Poly/PVC fabric is a strong two-layer fabric (Polyester with PVC backing) coated with teflon to provide excellent waterproofing to 8000mm. The garments will remain waterproof after washing with a mild detergent – we recommend using products designed for waterproof clothing (do not use fabric conditioner as this will impair the performance of the fabric), such as Nikwax TechWash and Nikwax Direct Wash In.
THE NORDIC WEATHER COLLECTION IS WARM AND WATERPROOF TO PROTECT YOU FROM THE CHALLENGES THE WEATHER GIVES US.
We are working with fabrics of the highest technical standards. Our Poly/PVC fabrics are 100% waterproof, windproof and water repellent. This provides very functional and comfortable garments.
The fabric can resist the pressure of a water column of 8000 millimeters. This is in other words absolutely waterproof.
All the garments have taped seams; each seam is sealed with a polyurethane seam tape, which is applied with heat and is bonded to the fabric. This makes the seams totally waterproof.
Water repellant means that the upper layer of the fabric has been treated with a Teflon fabric protector, forcing the rain to fall off the fabric in drops.
The lining we use is a Taffeta fabric made from 100% polyester. This high quality lining eliminates the risk of colour migration (this is when colour from the lining comes through the fabric).
The zippers used are produced by YKK, the world’s best Zipper brand.
All garments are produced according to EU’s environmental REACH code and Oeko® Tex 100 standard.
